TRAINING PLANS
ROAD CYCLIST TRAINING PLANS
Level 1
$150/month + $150 start up fee
This training plan is for the athlete that monitors training intensity with Perceived Exertion (often referred to as RPE). This plan includes an extensive start-up interview (both written and verbal) to help Jim Cunningham Coaching understand your history, current life situation, & training and racing goals. Coach client interaction is definitely sufficient to get the job done! Included in this plan are:
- Use of on-line training and communication software powered by Training Peaks.
- Four-point physiological test on a Computrainer Lab Version Pro 3D. This is a power/wattage test, threshold heart-rate test, Spin-Scan® pedaling assessment and bike fit assessment.
- An athlete-specific daily training schedule.
- Up to two phone consultations per month (30-45 minutes each) at athlete’s initiative.
- Ten e-mails per month at athlete’s initiative. E-mails are answered within 24 hours.
- Weekly and per-season training goals & objectives.
- Bi-weekly review & analysis of your online training log. Progress report e-mailed twice per month.
- Nutritional guidance and recommendations.
- Whole body strength training program including Core-specific conditioning.
- Once monthly training plan revisions if needed.
Level 2
$200/month + $150 start up fee
This training plan is for the athlete that monitors training intensity with Heart Rate and/or Perceived Exertion (often referred to as RPE) and would like more ‘face-time’ with his or her coach. This plan includes an extensive start-up interview (both written and verbal) to help Jim Cunningham Coaching understand your history, current life situation, & training and racing goals. Coach client interaction is extensive and regular and will often be coach-initiated. See below for details! Included in this plan are:
- Use of on-line training and communication software powered by Training Peaks.
- Four-point physiological test on a Computrainer Lab Version Pro 3D. This is a power/wattage test, threshold heart-rate test, Spin-Scan® pedaling assessment and bike fit assessment.
- An athlete-specific daily training schedule.
- Up to four phone consultations per month (30-45 minutes each) at athlete’s initiative.
- Fifteen e-mails per month. E-mails are answered within 24 hours and often within eight hours.
- Weekly and per-season training goals & objectives.
- Weekly review & analysis of your training data. These will include heart rate graphs and charts where helpful to you. Progress report e-mailed once per week.
- Nutritional guidance and recommendations.
- Whole body strength training program include Core-specific conditioning including DVD-ROM of exercises in action.
- Unlimited training plan revisions as needed.
- A one-hour ride with your coach for on-road assessment once per quarter!
- Pre-race or Pre-event strategy discussion to address last-minute issues and concerns.
Level 3
$250/month + $175 start up fee
This training plan is for the athlete that monitors training intensity with a Power Meter and would like the most out of his or her commitment to training, riding and racing. This plan includes an extensive start-up interview (both written and verbal) to help Jim Cunningham Coaching understand your history, current life situation, & training and racing goals. Past power files are also analyzed prior to Jim Cunningham Coaching building your training plan. Coach client interaction is extensive and regular and will often be coach-initiated. See below for details! Included in this plan are:
- Use of on-line training and communication software powered by Training Peaks.
- Four-point physiological test on a Computrainer Lab Version Pro 3D. This is a power/wattage test, threshold heart-rate test, Spin-Scan® pedaling assessment and bike fit assessment.
- An athlete-specific daily training schedule.
- Unlimited phone consultations!
- Unlimited e-mails! E-mails are answered within 24 hours and often within eight hours.
- Weekly and per-season training goals & objectives.
- Weekly review & analysis of your wattage and training data with Cycling Peaks WKO+®! Progress report e-mailed once per week. Where helpful to you the athlete, reports will include various charts & graphs generated by Jim Cunningham Coaching while analyzing your power files in Cycling Peaks WKO+®!
- Nutritional guidance and recommendations.
- Whole body strength training program include Core-specific conditioning including DVD-ROM of exercises in action plus face-to-face exercise instruction from your coach at a gym of your choice!
- Unlimited training plan revisions as needed.
- A two-hour ride with your coach for on-road assessment once per quarter!
- Pre-race or Pre-event strategy discussion to address last-minute issues and concerns.
MOUNTAIN BIKER TRAINING PLANS
Jim Cunningham Coaching has coaching plans similar to the above for the avid mountain biker. Jim has coached several mountain bikers with success (see Testimonials for starters!). See above for a general guideline but do inquire for details.
OTHER SERVICES
Comprehensive bike fittings:
Jim Cunningham has over four year experience fitting bicycles and has completed over 225 bike fits. Bike fits include assessment of flexibility, riding style and types of rides and/or races you are doing. Equipment suggestions are made if needed.

Domestiquing Services:
Jim Cunningham has ridden domestique for other riders extensively beginning with his experience in the Pro, 1-2 racing scene. Clients often request this service for their big-goal events such as Mt. Mitchell and Bridge-To-Bridge. This service includes pulling, protecting, fetching (food usually!), fixing (mechanicals unfortunately happen!), and motivating to the end!
Prices vary and the range is $250.00-$750.00. Inquire if interested as price depends on your specific needs and event.
General Consultation:
If you would like a professional opinion to help with your cycling problem or need. You’ll get one hour or more of undivided attention and the opinion of an experienced cycling professional.
$100.00 per hour.
